What can (or can't) your soil do for you?
What can (or can't) your soil do for you?
The passion for soil was ignited in 2007 during an undergrad research project that involved a native orchid and its mycorrhizal partner. I hadn't learned about mycorrhizae in the classroom, but rather in my own studies digging through mountains of published research on native orchids. I was fascinated. To me soil instantly became more than horizons and basic chemistry. It became its own spectacular ecosystem.
When I left school I entered the landscaping industry where soil health has always taken a backseat to practically every other component in the built environment. I knew that we as landscapers could do better, so I made soil a major focus of my career. For many years now I have had the great fortune of witnessing the effect that good soil health has on our built landscapes.
Regenerative agriculture is setting the example for soil regeneration on a massive scale, but soil health is truly for everyone at every scale.
All it really takes to improve soil is desire and a little bit of knowledge.
You bring the desire, we'll bring the knowledge.
